A baby crocodile was found in a pond at a busy commercial complex in eastern Beijing's Chaoyang District, Beijing Daily reports on Tuesday.

Workers from the Beijing Aquatic Wild Animal Rescue Center rushed to the community, Solana and later confirmed that it is an aggressive Siamese crocodile, a species listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

The croc is 0.4 meters long and weighs 2.4 kilograms.

The workers believe it was a captive bred pet. They urged pet lovers not to abandon their animals under any circumstances in order to prevent potential damage to humans.
