About 22 people were injured as strong wind on Wednesday hit Japan due to combined impacts of low pressure system and warm air, according to local media.

In prefectures of Chiba and Kanagawa, 13 and eight people were injured respectively, while another one was hit by billboard that collapsed due to the gale, said reports.

The gale also suspended some tramways and subways in Tokyo and made parts of highway in the capital shortly closed and about 30 flights canceled in Narita airport due to poor visibility, according to local media.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said that the gale would last to early Thursday and may cause tornado and thunder in the wind- affected areas.
