Tons of fish were found dead in a lake in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 13. 2013. According to a statement released Wednesday by Rio's municipal department of the environment, over 12 tons of dead fish have been retrieved from the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Rio's environmental authorities explained that the deaths of tons of fish were caused by a storm earlier this week which has washed organic matter into the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
