At least two children were injured in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore when an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted parts of the country on Wednesday, said local media.
Strong tremors hit the country's eastern Punjab and northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province at about 11:58 a.m. local time. Tremors were also felt for a few seconds in the capital city of Islamabad.
Quoting meteorological officials, local media said that the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km along Pakistan-India border at 33.1085 degrees north latitude and 75. 8243 degrees east longitude.
The tremors created panic among the people, however, no serious loss of life or property was reported.
Wednesday's earthquake is one of the current strings of quakes that hit the country over the last month with the worst one, recorded at 7.9 magnitude, killing 40 people and injuring over 300 others on April 16.
