Severe plague of locusts hits Madagascar

A severe plague of locusts has taken over Madagascar, threatening crops and livestock. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United States (FAO) estimates that about two-thirds of the country’s farmland might be affected by the locust plague by September 2013 if no effective action is taken.[Photo/Xinhua]
