M5.6 quake hits SW Ryukyu Islands, Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted southwestern Ryukyu Islands, Japan at 08: 25:54 GMT Tuesday (16:25:54 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 13.30 km, was initially determined to be at 23.4179 degrees north latitude and 123.6864 degrees east longitude.
