Hong Kong and Guangdong will continue to work together to improve regional air quality in the Pearl River Delta region.

At the meeting of a joint working group on sustainable development and environmental protection today, Secretary for the Environment KS Wong and Guangdong Environmental Protection Department Director-General Li Qing reviewed last year's work and agreed on a work plan for collaborating in 2014.

This year, they will finalise arrangements to enhance the regional air quality monitoring network, start a joint study on fine suspended particulates for the region, and explore co-operation in air pollution forecasting.
