Less arable land reported in Zhejiang

Photo taken on April 4, 2014 shows a train running past a village in Anhua Township of Zhuji City, east China's Zhejiang Province. Zhejiang saw less arable land while more land for construction in recent years, according to the latest statistics released on the occasion of the 24th National Land Day of China, which falls on June 25 every year. The per-capita arable land area in the province had shrank to 0.56 mu (0.04 hectares) by the end of 2009, about one-third of that of the whole nation, the statistics showed. [Photo/Xinhua]
