Thundershower was forecast to hit the southern part of Beijing and its outskirts before 3:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Beijing Municipal Meteorological Observatory.

It issued yellow alert, or the second-degree message for bad weather, to the thundershower forecast.

Some part of the region received shower Friday morning.

Beijing has four degrees of alert for abnormal weather: blue, yellow, orange, and the highest degree of red.
