Chinese HK Pair Clinch Surprise Win in Mixed Double

The Chinese Hong Kong pair Cheung Yuk and Tie Ya Na outlasted South Korea's Ryu Seung-min and Ryu Ji-haein seven sets to win the mixed doubles title at the Asian Games table tennis tournament on Sunday in Busan, South Korea.

The Hong Kong pair came from three sets down to subdue the host players 12-14, 5-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-7, 14-12, 11-4.

Chinese pairs Wang Liqin/Wang Nan and Ma Lin/Li Nan finished joint third.

In the semifinals, Cheung and Tie edged out Wang Liqin and WangNan, ranked first in the men's and women's world rankings, 11-7, 11-7, 12-14, 11-13, 8-11, 11-9, 13-11

Ryu Seung-min and Ryu Ji-hae shut out Ma and Li 11-9, 6-11, 11-5, 11-6, 14-16, 11-3 in the other semifinal.

DPR Korea upset 13-time world champion China 3-1 to win the women's team final on Friday and China overcame South Korea 3-0 to take the men's team crown on Saturday.
