Gao Shuying Wins Women's Pole Vault Asiad Gold

Gao Shuying of China won the gold medal of women's pole vault after clearing 4.35 meters at the Asian Games on Wednesday.

Gao met little challenge in the competitions as she had alreadyensured the gold medal after clearing 4.15 meters.

Gao, the Asian record holder of the event, then cleared 4.35 meters before failing all her three attempts at 4.45 meters. her Asian record stands at 4.52 meters.

The silver medal was taken by Japanese Masumi Ono at 4.10 meters. Qin Xia of China won the bronze medal at 4.00 meters.
