China's 110m Hurdler Liu Xiang Strikes Gold

Chinese Liu Xiang snatched the gold in the men's 110-meter hurdles event on Wednesday, the third day of the week-long athletics matches at the fortnight 14th Asian Games beginning on Sept. 29.

Liu, 19, dashed to the finish in 13.27 seconds, beating the Asiad record of 13.30 seconds created by China's Li Tong in 1994.

Satoru Tanigawa from Japan timed 13.83 seconds to take the silver, while Park Tae-kyong from South Korea seized the bronze in13.89.

Liu created the Asian record 13.12 seconds this year in Lausanne, Switzerland.
