Adjust font size:

The Constitution is the basic law of China and the foundation of all other laws. The Constitution clarifies the fundamental rights and duties of citizens, including the right to vote and stand for election and other political rights and freedoms. It stipulates that China is a socialist country under the people’s democratic dictatorship led by the working class and based on the alliance of workers and peasants. It defines the fundamental political system as based on people’s congresses and the basic economic system as a socialist market economy. It contains provisions for regional autonomy and the “one-country, two-systems” model, and enshrines the principle of the protection of human rights.
