Law on Protection of Consumers’ Rights and Interests

This was the most widely known law of the latter half of the 1990s. For a long period of time, Chinese consumers had no legal recourse if they bought counterfeit or low-quality goods, or received poor service. This state of affairs came to an end after the publication of this law.
