Guo Gengmao

Guo Gengmao, Han ethnic group, a native from Jizhou of Hebei, was born in December 1950 and joined the Communist Party of China in March 1972. Guo graduated from the political science division of the International Politics Department of Peking University in 1984. He also has a master’s degree in Political Economics from the Central Party School.

1984-1988: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zaoqiang County Committee and Zaoqiang County head

1988-1991: Secretary of the CPC Zaoqiang County Committee

1991-1992: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xingtai Prefectural Committee

1992-1994: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xingtai Prefectural Committee and Vice Commissioner of the Xingtai Administrative Office

1993-1994: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xingtai Municipal Committee and Xingtai Vice Mayor

1994-1997: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xingtai Municipal Committee and Xingtai Mayor

1998-2000: Vice Governor of Hebei Province

2000: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee, Executive Vice Governor of Hebei

Oct. 2006: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Acting Governor of Hebei

Jan. 2007: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Hebei Governor

Mar. 2008: Deputy Secretary of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee

Apr. 2008: Vice Governor and then Acting Governor of Henan

Jan. 2009: Governor of Henan

He was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
