Chen Zhenggao, ethnic Han and native of Haicheng City, Liaoning Province, was born in March 1952. He is a Member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and holds a Master’s degree.
Dec. 1970 to Feb. 1982: Studied and worked in Dalian Maritime University
Feb. 1985 to Dec. 1988: Deputy head of Changhai County, Dalian City, Liaoning
Dec. 1988 to Mar. 1990: Deputy Director of Xigang District, Dalian City, as well as a Standing Committee Member of the CPC Xigang District Committee
Mar. 1990 to Feb. 1993: Director of Xigang District, Dalian City, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xigang District Committee of Dalian
Feb. 1993 to Jun. 1995: Vice Mayor of Dalian City
Jun. 1995 to Nov. 1997: Re-elected as the Vice Mayor of Dalian, and a Standing Committee Member of the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee
Nov. 1997 to Dec. 2002: Assistant Governor of Liaoning Province; Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee
Jan. 2003 to Nov. 2007: Mayor of Shenyang City, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee; Secretary of the CPC Shenyang Municipal Committee
Dec. 2007: Vice Governor and Acting Governor of Liaoning Province and Vice Secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee
Jan. 2008: Governor of Liaoning Province
