Wang Jun, ethnic Han and a native of Datong City, Shanxi Province, was born in March 1952. He started work in October 1971 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in July 1977. A senior engineer, he has a Bachelor's degree and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in philosophy at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee

Aug. 1982 to Mar. 1984: Deputy Director and Director of the ventilation services of Jinhuagong Mine of the Datong Coal Mining Bureau
