Governor of Hubei Province
Li Hongzhong, ethnic Han, was born in August 1956. A native of Changle, Shandong Province, he graduated from the History Department of Jilin University, began his career in August 1975, and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1976.
Aug. 1975 – Feb. 1978: Went to Sujiatun, a suburb of Shenyang City in northeast China’s Liaoning Province, for physical labor education as a young intellectual.
Feb. 1978 – Feb. 1982: Educated in the History Department of Jilin University.
Feb. 1982 – Aug. 1984: Worked as a cadre of Shenyang City Hall Secretariat in Liaoning Province.
Aug. 1984 – Apr. 1985: Deputy head of the Document Division for Shenyang City Hall in Liaoning Province.
Apr. 1985 – Jun. 1985: Secretary of Liaoning Provincial Party Committee General Office.
Jun. 1985 – Sep. 1987: Secretary of the General Office for the Ministry of Electronics Industry (This Ministry was abolished in 1997).
Sep. 1987 – Nov. 1988: Deputy Director of the Party Office for the Ministry of Electronics Industry.
Nov. 1988 – Dec. 1995: Vice Mayor of Huizhou City, Guangdong Province.
Dec. 1995 – Apr. 1996: Vice Secretary of the CPC Huizhou Municipal Committee.
Apr. 1996 – Mar. 2000: Mayor of Huizhou City; Vice-Secretary of the CPC Huizhou Municipal Committee.
Mar. 2000 – Feb. 2001: Secretary of the CPC Huizhou Municipal Committee.
Feb. 2001 – Jun. 2003: Vice Governor of Guangdong Province.
Jun. 2003 – Nov. 2007: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Mayor of Shenzhen City; Vice Secretary and Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee.
Nov. 2007: Vice Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee.
Dec. 2007: Vice Governor and Vice Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee.
Jan. 2008: Governor of Hubei Province.
Li was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and is also an alternate member of the17th CPC Central Committee. |
