Li Bin

Li Bin, ethnic Han, a native of Fushun in Liaoning Province, was born in October 1954 and joined the CPC in June 1981. She has a Doctorate degree in economics and started to work in July 1974.

She was formerly a teacher in the Changchun Education Institute; clerk in the Theory Office of the Changchun Municipal Publicity Department; Deputy Director of Changchun Municipal Publicity Department; Vice President of the Jilin Academy of Social Sciences; Secretary of the CPC Erdaohezi District Committee of Changchun; Vice Director of Jilin Planning Commission; Director of the Jilin Economic Restructuring Commission; Jilin Governor’s Assistant; Jilin Vice Governor and Standing Committee Member of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee.

Sep. 2001: Jilin Vice Governor.

May 2007: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Jilin Vice Governor.

Aug. 2007: Vice Minister of the National Population and Family Planning Commission (NPFPC).

Mar. 2008: Minister of the National Population and Family Planning Commission (NPFPC).

She is a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
