Zhao Kezhi  a native of Laixi City in east China's Shandong Province.

He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1975.

Zhao served as deputy CPC chief in east China's Jiangsu Province between April 2006 and August 2010.

He was elected the governor of Guizhou in 2010 and the secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPC in 2012.
