An official of a Swedish charity group Wednesday showed appreciation for a children project jointly run with northeast China's Jilin Charity Federation.

Mainev Olofsson, an official in charge of international programs of "Star of Hope", evinced the above emotion when visiting Changchun's Xingguang Training Center for Disabled Children. She said the program for the recovery of disabled children has been run well in China.

The organization "Star of Hope", one of the major charity groups in Sweden, has opened offices in 19 countries to provide support for children and women. The group opened its first Chinese branch office in Beijing in 1999.

"Star of Hope" chose China's Jilin and Qinghai Province in 2004 for a three-year training program for the recovery of disabled children.

The charity group has donated funds and goods valued at about US$1.2 million for China since it signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the China Charity Federation in 2001.
