Senior Chinese Leader Calls for Improving Civil Trial System
Adjust font size:

A Senior Chinese leader has called for building a just, efficient and standard civil trial system in order to provide a strong legal backup to social harmony.

"The judicatory system reform should be steadily pushed ahead by carrying out the spirits of the Sixth Plenum of the 16th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held last October, at which the CPC outlined the building of a socialist harmonious society," said Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau.

Luo, also secretary of the CPC Central Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs, called on all people's courts and civil trial staff to combine the concept of scientific development with their daily work of solving social conflict and maintaining social stability.

He pointed out that all civil courts should resort to legal reconciliation more often in dealing with civil cases, cautiously exercise their power and enhance the public credibility of the country's civil trial system.
