The 2025 China Internet Civilization Conference is being held in Hefei, Anhui province. The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, one of the first national-level high-tech development zones in China, is leveraging the improvement of internet civilization to drive the deep integration of the digital and real economies.
The AI Tech Caravan – a program initiated by the zone's tech company iFlytek – donates AI education equipment to schools in ethnic, border, and rural areas, allowing students to use AI learning tablets. The program has reached 875,000 students across 472 sites in 15 provinces.
The effort exemplifies the zone's strategy to leverage its clusters of tech firms and internet platforms, according to a zone official.
In recent years, the zone has continuously helped to foster a clean and positive cyberspace. Through initiatives such as the Civilized High-Tech online campaign featuring activities like the Snapshot micro-video contest and Model Residents awards, the zone has promoted a culture of civility, effectively enhancing residents' digital literacy and cultivating a positive online environment.
Through the Truckers' Benefits platform, 181,000 Anhui-based truck drivers have joined unions, gaining access to union services such as legal aid and skills training.
A zone's official said that the conference has injected fresh momentum into the efforts of the zone to improve its business environment.
