A cultural exchange and service campaign was recently held in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, aiming to address community integration and cultural gaps for foreign residents.
The event, with a theme of "We Are Family," was organized by Linxi Community in the zone and attracted participation from 17 local institutions, including universities, associations, and enterprises.
Linxi Community, known as the first international community in Anhui province, boasts a picturesque landscape and enormous sci-tech potential. It is now home to over 20 expats from the U.S., Canada, South Korea, Spain, Australia, Germany, the U.K., and other countries. The residents also include nearly 500 returned overseas Chinese and their relatives as well as students returning from abroad.
To boost cross-cultural exchange, the community has initiated a number of intriguing activities during traditional festivals and holidays, like music festivals and Spring Festival-themed fairs.
During these events designed to foster their integration with local people, foreign residents could experience traditional Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage, while introducing exotic customs and cuisine from their own countries.
