From June 30 to July 6, over 100 journalists across China gathered in Anhui province for a close-up and in-depth observation of its dynamic development in future-oriented industries.

Thanks to forward-looking planning and dedicated efforts, the province in recent years has achieved remarkable progress in cutting-edge fields, such as quantum technology, fusion energy, artificial intelligence, and the low-altitude economy. By driving industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation, it has cultivated growing clusters within these sectors.

Quantum technology represents a critical frontier in the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. As a pioneer in quantum technology and the quantum industry in China, Hefei city of Anhui province is home to nearly 90 quantum technology enterprises, ranking first in the country. 

Along Yunfei Road in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, more than 30 quantum technology companies have made significant breakthroughs in cutting-edge sci-tech advancements.

At present, Hefei has established a comprehensive quantum ecosystem spanning fundamental research, core technology development, engineering applications, and industrialization. In 2024, the city's quantum sector generated approximately 1.4 billion yuan ($195 million) in revenue, representing a robust 21.6% year-on-year growth. 

Looking forward, based on the Quantum Information Future Industry Science and Technology Park, the city plans to intensify investments in funding, human resources, application scenarios, and industrial infrastructure, so as to gather over 150 quantum companies by 2027 and foster a local quantum industry cluster worth 10 billion yuan.
