Origin Quantum, a Hefei-based quantum computing company, has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Hefei Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry (HIPI), Hefei CAS-Juche Technology, and Zerog Aircraft Industry (Hefei) Co., Ltd. The deals mark a new phase in applying Origin's quantum technology beyond fundamental research.
In biomedicine, Origin Quantum will work with HIPI to build a research and development platform that integrates quantum technology with biomedicine. Powered by China's third-generation superconducting quantum computer, OriginQ Wukong, the platform will integrate core functions such as drug toxicity prediction and molecular docking. The technology will enable precise simulations of molecular energy and biochemical reactions, improving the efficiency and accuracy of virtual drug screening, cutting R&D cycles, and lowering costs.
In autonomous driving, Origin Quantum and Hefei CAS-Juche Technology will jointly develop key self-driving technologies using a hybrid quantum-classical computing architecture. The collaboration will focus on optimizing environmental sensing and route planning. Quantum algorithms are expected to enhance real-time target recognition and trajectory prediction, strengthening both the reliability and safety of driverless systems.
In the low-altitude aviation sector, Origin Quantum and ZeroG Aircraft Industry (Hefei) Co., Ltd. will collaborate on weather forecasting and flight route planning. The partners plan to build short- and medium-term weather models using quantum attention mechanisms to improve early warnings for extreme weather, and will explore quantum transformer algorithms for climate data analysis to support green aviation. On the operational side, they aim to integrate quantum-inspired and classical algorithms to optimize scheduling for urban low-altitude air logistics and emergency response, laying the groundwork for large-scale air traffic management in cities.
