Hefei claimed the world's second place in quantum technology strength, according to the "2024 Global Future Industry Index" released by tech consultancy ICV TA&K. As the birthplace of major scientific achievements like the satellites Mozi and Zuchongzhi-3, the city has gathered a full-chain lineup of industry leaders, including QuantumCTek, Origin Quantum, and CIQTEK, leading the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone to the forefront of innovation.
Hefei has attracted over 3,000 quantum researchers, boasting the highest talent density nationwide and forming a hub for industry experts.
The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone has also formed a distinctive industrial edge, hosting 75 quantum industry chain enterprises with total revenue nearing 3.8 billion yuan ($533.73 million). As the first Anhui Quantum Technology Future Industry Pilot Zone, it has cultivated a collaborative ecosystem from upstream core components and midstream technology applications to downstream implementation. These efforts are accelerating the rise of a 100-billion-yuan industrial cluster.
To bridge the lab and market, the zone recently launched a dedicated quantum industry incubator, aiming to cultivate a globally leading quantum cluster and help high-potential projects take root.
Meanwhile, the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is extending a global invitation to quantum innovators to join this transformative wave. The zone has announced it will provide over 3,200 square meters of premium furnished spaces for up to one year rent-free, a 200-million-yuan quantum industry fund for direct investment in promising ventures, and 512 fully-equipped apartments for experts. Complete amenities include 2,800 square meters of staff canteen, convenience stores, banking, and childcare.
The zone fosters a six-service system, including incubation, mentoring, R&D support, financing, talent services, and value-added care. It offers full-cycle support services for global innovators, including 34 items from company registration and startup guidance to R&D collaboration, funding access, talent recruitment, and market expansion.
