The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, covering an area of 194 square kilometers in Anhui province, has become a center of innovation for basic scientific research, industrial transformation, and international cooperation.
The Hefei high-tech zone is now not only a hub of cutting-edge technologies including quantum computing, but also a cluster of future industries such as artificial intelligence and the low-altitude economy, all of which are seeking global cooperation opportunities.
The zone is poised to lead the next-generation industrial boom. During the 2025 World Manufacturing Convention, held from Sept. 20 to 23 in Hefei, the zone inked three strategic cooperation agreements in sectors of embodied intelligence, low-altitude economy, and new display technologies.
Moreover, the zone has established a robust innovative ecosystem, featuring more than 400 provincial-level or higher research and development platforms and new research institutions. It also attracted 3,406 national high-tech firms, 97 specialized tech companies with great growth potentials known as "little giants," as well as five unicorn companies and 35 listed enterprises.
Powered by the "scientific and technological innovation + intelligent manufacturing" model, the zone has become a world-renowned innovation center, spanning everything from scientific breakthroughs in laboratories to industrial clusters. It provides a platform for both global technological exchange and international capital flow, setting a vivid example of fostering new-quality productive force.
