Hefei high-tech zone's aerospace cluster empowers Zhuque-3 rocket launch

The successful launch of the Zhuque-3 reusable rocket into orbit marks a significant breakthrough for China's commercial aerospace sector. Notably, the core tracking, telemetry, and command support for this mission was entirely provided by Zhongke Xingtu Measurement and Control Technology, a firm headquartered in the Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park within the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone. Its contribution illustrates the rapid rise of the zone's aerospace information industry cluster.
As Anhui's future hub for the commercial aerospace industry, the zone has built a nationally leading ecosystem for the sector. It now hosts over 140 core industrial-chain enterprises, including Geovis Technology and GALAXYSPACE, accounting for more than 90% of Hefei's total aerospace firms. This concentration of industry leaders has formed a complete industrial loop spanning satellite manufacturing, constellation operations, and data applications. From Zhongke Xingtu's mission-support technologies to core R&D by entities such as Aerospace Information Research Institute and Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as the coordinated efforts of supporting enterprises, the cluster effect continues to strengthen.
The zone's strength lies in its research and innovation sources, featuring 12 top-tier research institutes and innovation platforms such as the Deep Space Exploration Lab and the Aerospace Information Research Institute. With 327 high-value invention patents per 10,000 people, the zone ranks among the top national high-tech parks, providing sustained technical support for industrial breakthroughs. Two newly established public service platforms – the Anhui Commercial Aerospace Instrumentation Metrology and Testing Platform and the Hefei Aerospace Technology Innovation Scenario Laboratory – further complete the full-chain service system from R&D to industrialization.
The zone has also launched an administration platform that uses smart matching to deliver supportive policies to enterprises. Through streamlined application mechanisms, 300 million yuan (US$42.5 million) in policy funds have been directly allocated to companies. The zone is accelerating a "one core, two poles, multiple points" industrial layout, with Zhong'an Chuanggu Technology Park and the Deep Space Exploration Lab as core drivers. The first phase of the Science and Innovation Industrial Park, with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan, is under construction and is expected to accommodate over 150 enterprises, generating an estimated 2 billion yuan in annual output.
From providing critical mission support for the Zhuque-3 launch to building a full industrial chain covering satellite manufacturing, launch operations, and data applications, the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is steadily advancing toward its goal of creating a 100-billion-yuan aerospace economic circle and establishing itself as an internationally influential city of aerospace technology. Looking ahead, the zone is poised to continue aggregating resources, strengthening its industrial ecosystem, and enabling more cutting-edging technologies that will propel China's commercial aerospace industry into its next chapter of high-quality development.
