Zero Gravity Aircraft Industry Co., LTD, an enterprise based in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, recently showcased multiple star products at the 27th China Hi-Tech Fair.
Among them, the tilt-rotor electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft ZG-T6 combines the advantages of vertical takeoff and landing, long range, and high speed, offering innovative solutions for urban air mobility. This not only reflects the company’s technological strength but also illustrates the deep integration of innovation and industrial chains within the zone.
In recent years, the zone has achieved a leap to leading in strategic emerging industries such as quantum technology, artificial intelligence, and aerospace information, striving to become an internationally influential hub for these sectors.
In the field of quantum technology, the zone has gathered over 80 industry chain enterprises, including QuantumCTek, CIQTEK, and Origin Quantum, after years of dedicated cultivation. Origin Quantum’s independently developed third-generation superconducting quantum computer, “OriginQ Wukong,” has been accessed by users from 163 countries and regions more than 38 million times since its launch in 2024, completing over 750,000 quantum computing tasks and setting a new record for the scale of China’s independent quantum computing services. CIQTEK is accelerating the construction of a Quantum Science Instrument Valley, fostering a complete innovation ecosystem covering technology R&D, commercialization, and industrial expansion to enhance China’s progress in quantum precision measurement and high-end scientific instrumentation.
From a quantum research hub to a global quantum industry cluster, breakthroughs at the front end of the innovation chain are continuously driving the global competitiveness of the industrial chain.
The layout in the aerospace industry has also yielded significant results. Leveraging the technological foundation of research institutions such as the Deep Space Exploration Lab, the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone focuses on the full chain encompassing satellite manufacturing, launch operations, and data application, attracting 140 enterprises and forming a rare, comprehensive satellite industry chain.
At the 2025 World Manufacturing Convention, the zone further strengthened its presence in cutting-edge fields by signing strategic cooperation agreements with enterprises and institutions such as X Square Robot and the International Advanced Technology Application Promotion Center (Hefei), with a focus on embodied intelligent robotics, the low-altitude economy, and new display technologies, continually driving the transformation of innovative achievements into industrial momentum.
These results are underpinned by a full-chain support system built by Hefei high-tech zone, linking R&D institutions, business cultivation, and scenario-based application. In 2024, several high-level R&D institutions were established in the zone, bringing the total number of new-type R&D institutions to 22. Earlier this year, the zone unveiled its first batch of innovative application scenarios. The initiative introduced 56 real-world application opportunities and highlighted 116 technological capabilities, with 21 scenarios already implemented. By aligning innovation with market needs, the program is helping speed up technology development, testing, and commercialization.
The three core strategies, forward-looking planning, precise coordination, and ecosystem empowerment, have fostered a positive interaction between innovation and industry within the zone. Entrepreneurs bring market demands into laboratories, while researchers connect patent technologies with industrial resources. The two sides no longer develop in isolation but achieve mutual success and collaborative progress. From the intelligent speech technology of China Speech Valley to the independent breakthroughs along Quantum Avenue, from satellite networking in aerospace to strengthening the integrated circuit supply chain, the Hefei high-tech zone is providing a model for the high-quality development of emerging industries through its practice of integrating innovation and industry.
