In the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, frontier fields such as quantum information, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine are converging, fostering a collaborative environment where enterprises thrive together. This integrated innovation ecosystem provides strong support for high-quality industrial growth.
A robust incubation system backs startups. MCHIPSMART, specializing in UWB chips, faced initial team-building and funding challenges after entering the zone in late 2021. The zone supported it through rent reduction, helped secure its recognition as a sci-tech small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), and facilitated investment from incubation funds, accelerating its domestic chip R&D.
Public service platforms boost R&D and commercialization. Anhui Tongling Bionic Technology, a national-level SME that use specialized and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, benefits from platforms such as the Hefei Medical Device Testing Center, gaining testing services and technical support that speed up core R&D and industrialization.
The zone tailors services for enterprises at different stages and in different industries. The integrated circuit incubator lowers rents, linking discounts to sci-tech achievements, benefiting over 60 firms yearly. The zone also runs a service platform for chip industry to pool resources and cut costs. Startups access low-threshold, high-limit credit via specialized funding project, while growing firms receive equity investment through industry funds and investor roadshows, forming a full-lifecycle financial service system.
Quality industrial carriers underpin cluster development. The zone has built specialized parks including a Quantum Industrial Park and an Integrated Circuit Park, with total space exceeding 6.2 million square meters and cooperative spaces covering 2.6 million square meters. These concentrated resources enhance industrial chain collaboration, strengthen cluster effects, and provide an improving environment for innovation.
