The "Two Lakes Area" around Shuxi Lake and Beiyan Lake in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is exploring a new urban model that blends cutting-edge research, international business, and high-quality living.

Global innovation resources are gathering here. The area hosts the International Deep Space Exploration Association and quantum technology firms such as QuantumCTek, alongside national labs and advanced research institutes.

Nearly 500 foreign-funded enterprises operate in the zone — about a quarter of Hefei's total — with nearly 100 located in the Two Lakes Area. To support international talents, the zone offers streamlined services for work permits, visas, policy consultations, and daily convenience.

The area also provides international-friendly communities. Linxi Community holds golf, camping, and cultural events. Ninghu Community, home to over 110 foreign residents, offers bilingual social workers. A school for children of foreign personnel offers education from kindergarten to high school, while sports and leisure facilities are being added.

The Two Lakes Area is positioning itself not just as a tech hub, but also a livable, open area for global innovators.
