Hefei high-tech zone's quantum tech moves from lab to industry

In a lab in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, a white barrel-shaped dilution refrigerator — the EZ-QF1500, released in June — is being installed for a "Zuchongzhi-3" series superconducting quantum computer. QuantumCTek says its single-core cooling technology is internationally advanced.
QuantumCTek has delivered six superconducting quantum systems. "Tianyan-287," carrying the Zuchongzhi-3 chip, can solve specific problems 450 million times faster than the world's fastest supercomputer. "Tianyan-504," China's most qubit-rich machine, is operational. Its "Tianyan" cloud platform has received 50 million visits from more than 60 countries and regions.
QuantumCTek is now among the few global firms that offer full superconducting quantum computing solutions. In H1 2026, its quantum computing revenue surpassed that of quantum communication.
Quantum communication has been put into use. Quantum SIM encrypted calls — tapped calls yield only static — have over 6 million users. Products include secure walkie-talkies and earphones, while cold atom gravimeters have been delivered to multiple provinces for geological surveys and disaster mitigation, and single-photon imaging radar is being piloted in water conservancy and energy sectors.
Hefei's quantum metro network spans 1,147 kilometers, the largest in China. Nationally, the first-phase China Quantum Communication Network exceeds 12,000 kilometers across 80 cities. Anhui's "Thousand Scenarios" initiative aims for 1,000 quantum application scenarios by 2027 and 3,000 by 2030, with Hefei providing dual support from basic research to industrial application.
