FM pledges to advance relations with Montenegro
Adjust font size:

China is ready to work with Montenegro to promote the comprehensive development of bilateral relations, said Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in Beijing on Wednesday.

Yang made the remarks during the talks with his Montenegran counterpart Milan Rocen, who is in China from July 15 to 16 at the invitation of Yang.

China and Montenegro have enjoyed a rapid growth of bilateral ties since forging diplomatic relations in 2006, with increasing mutual trust in politics and pragmatic cooperation in various fields, Yang said.

China is satisfied with the development of relations, Yang said, noting that China would work to further increase political dialogue and personnel exchanges and to expand exchanges in economy, trade, culture and education.

Rocen expressed appreciation for China's important role in international affairs, saying that Montenegro values the development of all-round cooperation with China, and firmly adheres to the one-China policy. He wished a complete success for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Yang and Rocen also discussed mutually important issues.
