Directed by widely acclaimed Chinese director Sheng Ding, the original Chinese title for this entertaining and engaging action comedy is Da Bing Xiao Jiang.

This slapstick epic is set in ancient China and features Chan as a soldier who survived by playing dead. After capturing a wounded enemy general played by Leehom Wang, Chan attempts to turn the general in for a reward. Together they had a winding and interesting journey.

Both Chan and Wang' s wonderful performance received raving reviews during the festival. Besides Big Little Solider, the other Chinese movie to be showcased is Amphetamine from Hong Kong.

Running from Oct. 7-21, the 46th Chicago International Film Festival kicked off on Thursday with Oscar-nominated actor Edward Norton, whose upcoming drama Stone was screened at the opening night. The movie also starred Oscar-winner Robert De Niro and Oscar nominee Regina Taylor.

Oscar winner Forest Whitaker added glamor to the red carpet on Saturday. He was honored with the festival's black perspectives tribute as well as a career achievement award. This year's festival will also include celebrity appearances by David Schwimmer who played Ross at sitcom Friends and Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

The Chicago International Film Festival is one of the most well-known premier movie festivals in the world. The 46th edition presented a stellar line up of 150 dramas, comedies, short films, and documentaries from over 50 countries in the world.

Starting in 1964, each year the festival organizers travel the world to find the new, unconventional voices in field and bring them to Chicago.
