| HarassMap, a private venture in Egypt, allows women to instantly report incidents of sexual harassment by sending a text message to a centralized computer, the Guardian reported. The activists behind the project hope to transform social attitudes to the harassment of women and shame authorities into taking greater action to combat the problem. | Researchers in the UK are working on a commercial space aircraft called "Skylon" that will be operational by 2020, the Daily Telegraph reports. Skylon will take off from a standard airport runway and travel at more than five times the speed of sound. The unpiloted Skylon has no external rockets, and its engines uses hydrogen and oxygen for propulsion. It can remain operational in orbit for seven days and land like a regular plane for reuse. NASA is also considering using it to replace the space shuttles. |
