Three Gorges Dam continues releasing water
三峡大坝继续放水救灾

 

 

The Three Gorges Dam is discharging water into the Yangtze River to help combat a lingering drought in central and eastern China, Xinhua reports. 据新华社报道,三峡大坝正在向长江中下游放水,以缓解华中地区持续不断的旱灾。
The Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission said that the dam has discharged about 600 million cubic meters of water over the past three days. 长江水利委员会表示,过去三天大坝排水6亿立方米。
As a result, water levels in the Hankou region rose by 1.34 meters to 16.59 meters, and in the Jiujiang region by 1.1 meters to 10.58 meters. 长江汉口段的水位上升1.34米,至16.59米,九江段的水位升高1.1米,至10.58米。

Water levels in Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake have risen by 1.56 meters and 1.16 meters, respectively.
