Police are trying to trace the owner of a toy life-size tiger that sparked a major operation involving armed officers and a force helicopter in Southampton, the Daily Telegraph reports.

But as police officers carefully approached the "wild animal" they realized it was not moving and the helicopter crew, using thermal imaging equipment, realized there was no heat source coming from it.

Releasing a photo of the toy tiger, a force spokeswoman said: "The toy tiger is life-size and is like one that you would win at a fair. It is being treated as lost property but we don't know how it came to be in the field and whether it may have been a hoax."

英出动直升机抓玩具虎

       据英国《每日电讯报》报道，英国南安普顿警方出动地面武装警察，还调用警用直升机，追捕一只仿真玩具老虎。

       当警察小心翼翼试图接近这头“猛兽”时，发现它一动不动；而直升机机组人员使用热能成像设备观察，也发现它根本就没有热源。

       随后，警方公布了这个玩具老虎的照片。警方发言人称：“这就是个仿真玩具虎，类似在集市玩游戏时赢得的奖品。我们当它是失物处理；但是我们不知道它是怎么跑到草地上的，也不清楚这是不是个恶作剧。”
