A teenager from a poor family in the rural Philippines has been declared the world's shortest man as he turned 18, the BBC reports.

Guinness World Records presented 59.93 cm tall Junrey Balawing with a certificate at his 18th birthday party.

Balawing stopped growing when he was two, his father said. He is more than 7cm shorter than the previous record holder, Khagendra Thapa Magar from Nepal.

“世界最矮男人”新纪录诞生

       英国广播公司消息，菲律宾农村一个贫困家庭的少年在18岁生日时被确认为世界上最矮的男人，吉尼斯世界纪录在琼瑞•巴拉温生日当天授予他世界最矮男人称号。

       巴拉温只有59.93公分高，他父亲说，他在两岁的时候就停止了长个儿。他比原纪录保持者——来自尼泊尔的卡根德拉•塔巴•马加尔还要矮7公分多。
