'Divorce ceremonies' have gained momentum in Japan after the massive March earthquake and tsunami and subsequent nuclear crisis caused unhappy couples to reassess their lives, Reuters reports.

Hiroki Terai, a 31-year-old former salesman, spotted a gap in the market and pioneered the divorce ceremony two years ago. Since then, he's celebrated more than 80 breakups.

One such ceremony costs 55,000 yen (US$690), includes a buffet meal and culminates with the ritual smashing of wedding rings with a gavel.

Requests for the ceremony have tripled since the tsunami struck.

"The March 11 disaster made many couples rethink their priorities. Some found that work was a higher priority to them than family, and this helped people gain the confidence to decide on a divorce," Terai said.（点击路透社网站查看原文）

日本盛行离婚庆典

       据路透社报道，三月份的特大地震、海啸以及接下来的核危机使得生活并不幸福的日本夫妇重新审视生活，“离婚庆典”由此在日本盛行开来。

       现年31岁的寺井弘树原为一名销售人员，两年前观察到市场空白，遂开创离婚庆典。从那时起，他为80对夫妇举办了离婚庆祝仪式。

       一场此类庆典花费5.5万日元（合690美元），带自助餐。仪式随着锤碎结婚戒指达到高潮。

       自从特大海啸侵袭以来，仪式的需求增加了三倍。

       寺井说：“3月11日的灾难使得许多夫妇重新考虑生活主次。一些人发现工作对他们来说比家庭更重要，这给了人们离婚的信心。”
