|Two schoolgirls who tried to commit suicide by drinking poison wrote on their school's blackboard asking police to arrest their math teacher, Metropolis Express reported.
|On Oct. 24, Xiao Meng, 12, and Zhou Zhou, 11, wrote on the blackboard of their six-grade classroom at Funan Second Elementary School in Funan County, Anhui Province.
|Zhou Zhou wrote: "If I am dead, blame math teacher, police uncle, please arrest her." While Xiao Meng wrote: "I'm so tired, they don't understand me, I don't want to live anymore."
|They then drank Dichlorvos, a highly toxic pesticide, in an attempt to commit suicide, but were saved in a nearby hospital.
|Xiao Meng who drank less recovered in a day, but Zhou Zhou wasn't out of hospital until Nov. 11 and only because her family could no longer afford her treatment. She still has not fully recovered.
|The two said they want to commit suicide because they feel depressed as they were scoffed at by their math teacher.
|Jiang, in her forties, often criticized them for not doing their homework well. They were arranged to sit at far back of the classroom, where they said they could "hardly see the blackboard." Zhou Zhou said she felt hurt by her teacher.
|"Teaching you is just a waste of time," Xiao Meng recalled what Jiang has always said to her class.
|Jiang said she "did not understand why students blame her."
|"I don't think I should be responsible for this. I never punish them physically, or give them pressure," but she admitted that she didn't realize the problem before this incident.
Local education bureau has suspended Jiang and is investigating the issue.
