A 27-year-old Chinese student association was dismissed by the University of Cambridge in the U.K. because its president violated election procedures, Southern Weekly reported last Friday.
Feifan Chang, elected as the president of Chinese Student and Scholar Association in Cambridge (CSSA) in 2010, sent an email to all association members in mid-July, saying that she was approved by the association's executive council to serve as new president for another year.
"But according to the association's rules, president should be elected by all members," said Qi Chen, also a member of the executive council.
He recounted that the council was once summoned by Chang to support her job; it was not supposed to approve her re-election.

Cambridge asked for an updated and effective rule before Oct. 1, but the association failed to do so and then was dismissed.
