The report, which was released in Beijing on Monday, features analyses of the development of China's family businesses. [Xinhua]
Only 16 percent of sons and daughters surveyed said they were interested in taking over businesses started by their parents in the 1970s and 80s, according to a report released by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. 全国工商联对外发布的我国首份《中国家族企业发展报告》显示,上世纪七八十年代创业成功、目前正在寻找接班人的家族企业中,只有16%的企业主子女表示愿意接班。 
The average life of family controlled firms in China is 8.8 years and 59 percent of family-owned businesses established after 2001 are still in the early development stage, the report said. 我国家族企业经营年限平均为8.8年,59%的企业成立于2001年之后,尚处于早期创建阶段。

It also estimated that only 30 percent of family firms could survive a second generation and only 10 to 15 percent of firms would be handed over to the third generation.

报告估计,只有30%的家族企业能够顺利延续到第二代,能够将接力棒顺利传到第三代家族成员手中的仅为10%-15%。
