|On December 1, 1996, Li Junlin and other 10 inmates burrowed out of a prison in Handan City of Hebei Province through a tunnel they dug by hand, the Yanzhao Evening News reported.
|The other ten prisoners were recaptured later, but Li remained at-large until Dec. 7, 2011 when he was arrested in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
|It was reported that there is no monitoring system in that cell and its ground was not hardened with cement.
With their hands, the prisoners dug a 13-meter-long tunnel in about 50 nights and escaped.
