A 28-year-old migrant worker from Chongqing municipality who told police he mysteriously lost his left kidney in Guangdong Province has admitted that he sold his kidney, Chongqing Economic Times reported.

"I sold my left kidney of my own will for 20,000 yuan ($3,200)," Shu Zhen told his father who went to visit him in the hospital on Tuesday.

He has refused to say why he sold his kidney, and police is holding him for further investigation.

《重庆商报》报道,一名在广东打工的28岁重庆籍男子对警察声称自己神秘丢失左肾,如今开口承认肾是自己卖掉的。

“肾是我自愿卖的,得了两万块钱。”周二,舒镇对前去医院探望他的父亲说。

但是舒镇仍拒绝道出他卖肾的原委。目前,警方正在对此案进行深入调查。
