North Korea has agreed to suspend uranium enrichment, as well as nuclear and long-range missile tests, following talks with the US, BBC reported.

The US State Department said Pyongyang had also agreed to allow UN inspectors to monitor its reactor in Yongbyon to verify compliance with the measures. In return, the US is providing 240,000 tons of food aid for the North.

Correspondents say the move could pave the way for the resumption of six-party disarmament negotiations with Pyongyang.

据英国广播公司报道，经朝美会谈，朝鲜同意暂停铀浓缩以及核弹和远程导弹试射活动。

美国国务院表示，平壤方面已经同意联合国核查人员对其宁边核反应堆进行检查和监督。而美方则敲定了向朝鲜援助24万吨食品的计划。

记者称，此举为重启朝鲜去核化六方会谈奠定了基础。
