Queen's granddaughter goes Olympic

Zara Philips, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, has fulfilled her quest to appear at London 2012 as part of the British equestrian team, making Elizabeth II's presence at the opening ceremony not the only royal appearance, the Guardian reported.

Phillips's mother, Princess Anne, competed in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal as a member of the British team, on the Queen's horse Goodwill. Phillips's father, Captain Mark Phillips, won a gold medal in 1972 and a silver one in 1988.
