In the all-out war China has waged against the COVID-19 epidemic, many Sub-Saharan African countries and their political parties have been standing firmly with the Chinese people.

By the end of March 23, a total of 66 government or party leaders from 52 political parties in 34 countries have sent solidarity messages to the International Department of the CPC Central Committee expressing their support for and sympathy with the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people.

Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and head of the Alliance for the Republic, said: "I, along with all members of the Alliance for the Republic, firmly support the Chinese people to fight against the novel coronavirus."

Slumber Tsogwane, Vice President of the Republic of Botswana and Chairman of the Botswana Democratic Party, said: "the pandemic was not a crisis that China was facing alone, but a common challenge for the whole world."

He praised the way China was actively sharing information and experience with the World Health Organization and other countries, demonstrating its sense of responsibility as a major power.

Vincent Meriton, Vice President of Seychelles and Leader of the United Seychelles Party, said: "You will overcome the coronavirus and continue to work for the good of the people of your country and the world. The United Seychelles Party highly values the continued friendship and ties close collaboration and excellent relations between our two Parties and our people."

Roque Silva Samuel, Secretary General of Frelimo Party of Mozambique, said: "China has reaped phased achievements in its epidemic control, and it is believed that under the brilliant leadership of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC, the Chinese government and the Chinese people will be able to defeat the epidemic for sure, setting a good example for the world."

Binalf Andualem Ashenef, Secretary General of the Prosperity Party of Ethiopia, said its leadership and members were with the leadership and members of the CPC as well as the Chinese people in their fight against the virus. "It is our strong conviction that CPC will manage the outbreak in a short period of time."

Eric Dodo Bounguendza, Secretary General of Gabonese Democratic Party, said: "China has made rigorous efforts to bring the epidemic under control, and we firmly believe that under the strong leadership of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC will inevitably lead the brave and fearless Chinese people to secure a glorious victory in the war against the virus.'

Munyaradzi Machacha, ZANU-PF Politburo Member and President of the Chitepo School of Ideology of Zimbabwe, said: "On behalf of my party, ZANU-PF, I would like to express our utmost appreciation of the efforts that the Communist Party of China and the government of China, particularly, the role of President Xi Jinping, in the fight against the coronavirus. So far those efforts have been very impressive."

In a video message, Simon Compaore, President of Movement for People's Progress of Burkina Faso, said in Chinese: "China, stay strong! Wuhan, stay strong!"

Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee, has written to many leaders and statesmen in Africa, and shared China's experience and practices in epidemic control.

In his letters, Song expounds the commanding and deployment of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, which has prompted the country to establish an efficient joint prevention and control mechanism to control the infection sources, cut transmission means, concentrate the national power to support the worst-hit regions, to rely on science and technology to curb the contagion, to balance epidemic control and economic and social development, and to strengthen international coordination and cooperation.

After receiving Song's letter, Elias Magashule, Secretary General of the African National Congress of South Africa, said: "As China has made important progress in epidemic control, the CPC is taking the initiative to share its epidemic control experience with other parties and countries, show its high sense of responsibility to global public health security, and demonstrates its sense of duty for the building of a community of a shared future for all humanity, and China's experience and practices are very important references to South Africa."

Bashiru Ally, Secretary General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi of Tanzania, thanked Song for his letter, saying that China had taken the initiative to share its epidemic control experience in a timely manner.

The local newspaper Daily News and Guardian published relevant articles on Song's letter, and the Chama Cha Mapinduzi of Tanzania intends to translate the letter into Swahili for its members.

As the Chinese adage says "Friendship forged in the right way defies distance and withstands tests". In face of the grave situations of the global pandemic, the CPC will always stand together with the African countries and parties to overcome the difficulty together and advance a China-Africa community with a shared future.
