Poyang Lake shrinking for lingering drought

Hydrological rulers lie fully exposed on the dried-up riverbed of the Poyang Lake in east China's Jiangxi Province, Sept. 15, 2011. The water surface and water level of the Poyang Lake, China's largest freshwater lake, continue shrinking during lingering drought. Water levels on the lake are decreasing dramatically at a rate of 0.1 to 0.2 meters per day. [Xinhua/Zhou Ke]
