Editor's Note: 2011 is coming to an end, but many of China's images this year will last long after the year has gone. China.org.cn selected China's most memorable moments captured on camera in chronological order.

1. Salt Panic

The public rushes to supermarkets to buy packs of iodized salt, as many believed the iodine contained in the salt would help prevent radiation from Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plants hit by the 9.0 magnitude earthquake on March 11, 2011. People also believed that nuclear fallout would contaminate future supplies of sea salt.
